    There are no monthly fees with FTA systems.  You only have to pay for the hardware (satellite receiver, dish / antenna).  The only costs are costs for the hardware and installation, if you choose to not install it yourself.

    No. You may only receive unencrypted (clear) signals with FTA systems. Any premium channels requires a subscription.
